The Detroit Chapter of the National Basketball Retired Players Association is a charitable 501© 3 non-profit organization with a three-pronged mission: 1) to assist former American Basketball Association (ABA), Harlem Globetrotter, National Basketball Association (NBA), and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Players so that they will be able to transition from life on the court to life after their career ends; 2) to support other organizations of the community, philanthropically; to provide any needed skills and leadership training.
What we do?
The game of basketball is a well-known sport played throughout the United States among youths, teens, and adults of all ages. The NBRPA Detroit Chapter is proud to announce our involvement with youth and educational programs throughout the State of Michigan. Our youth programs will provide educational skills, mentoring, leadership development, sports camps, training, and healthy life style curriculum to help young people remain focused on their education and physical activity.

The National Basketball Retired Players Association Detroit Chapter is always looking for current players from the Harlem Globetrotters, American Basketball Association, National Basketball Association and Women’s National Basketball Association retired players to join our chapter and become active members.
